Ridgewood Athletics Centre hold a variety of special events over the course of the season.
Check out the list below to see how it affects the weekly competition. All athletes will be given the opportunity to participate in these events unless otherwise stated. Athletics West also conduct State Events in addition to Ridgewood Events. For more information about Athletics West Events click HERE |

North Metro Challenge

Date: November 29th, 2025
Venue: WA Athletics Stadium It's time to wear the Red, White and Blue and battle it out against Joondalup and Hamersley in the new Inter Centre Competition. Open to ALL athletes (except Tiny Tots) Register to compete via your RevSport Account by November 15th! Athletes will compete in a Sprint Track, Middle Distance Track, Jump and Throw! |
Relay Twilight Special Event
Date: Thursday 11th December 2025
Times 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Join us for our special Relay Twilight event. With less than 36 hours to go before the start of the State Relay Championships, we will give our state teams a final run-out plus clubs will be able to battle it out for club pride with an inter-club relay challenge also taking place.

Back by popular demand, our January Friday Twilights return throughout the month of January. Using the standard Program 1 and 2, join us under the stars and lights to compete in the cooler summer weather.

Inter Club Competition 2026

Times 5pm to 9pm A BRAND NEW EVENT COMING THIS SEASON! This Special Event is a Club/Team Based Competition where athletes compete for their club to earn points across a variety of events. |
Event Grid:
Perth Children's Hospital All Age Relay 2026

Date: February 7th, 2026
This special event includes a Club Vs. Club Grand Relay with participation for a Gold Coin Donation. All money raised is donated to the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation. Donations can be made at the Canteen and throughout the season. |
Centre Combined Event Championships
Date: Saturday 14th February 2026
The 2026 Centre Combined Event Championships will be held in February.
Athletes will compete in 5 events across the morning and earn points for their achievements. At the end of competition, points are calculated and the top 3 athletes for each age group/gender will be awarded medals.
Athletes must compete in all events offered for their age group/gender to be eligible for medals.
Clubs will also be competing for the Centre Multi Event Perpetual Shield.
The 2026 Centre Combined Event Championships will be held in February.

2025 Ridgewood Athletics Opening Day
Date: 11th October 2025
The 2025/26 Season is here!
Join us for our first competition of the season and start earning those Personal Bests (PB's). A selection of guests will be invited to attend to the opening of the new Athletics season and speak a word of encouragement, motivation and to thank our winter coaches and athletes who have represented Ridgewood throughout the winter at local and national competitions. There will be a march of athletes in their respective clubs prior to the speeches.
Athletes are to be at the oval at 7.20 am to ensure a timely start of the day.
NOTE: Our State Relay selection process will commence from the opening day onwards

McGrath Foundation Pinkletics

Date: November 22nd, 2025
This day all athletes can dress up in PINK to raise money for breast cancer with the McGrath Foundation. Ridgewood Athletics would like to see all athletes participate. We encourage all clubs to add to this cause by holding their own fundraising activity on the day itself. We would like to see any may athletes, coaches and parents their brightest, prettiest, funniest pink costumes. Please note that registration numbers must still be worn for this event. |
